INVESTIGABILIS

Investigating the Ancient Romans and Greeks

Anil Hacıgençağaoğlu Avatar

I am Anıl Hacıgençağaoğlu. I am pursuing a PhD in Latin Language and Literature at the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography (DTCF) at Ankara University. In 2023, I completed my master’s degree in the same department with a thesis titled “Filicide in Ancient Rome.” Since 2023, I have been a scholar of the Turkish Historical Society (TTK).

My primary research focus is the social history of Rome, particularly intrafamily relationships. I also take great pleasure in examining Latin and Ancient Greek literature. Besides inquiring into the truth of what these authors narrated, I especially focus on investigating how they saw themselves, their society and culture, their stories and histories.

The purpose of Investigabilis is to introduce Latin and Ancient Greek languages and literatures, investigate these cultures from all aspects (Articles), demonstrate the methodologies used in Classics and provide resources on antiquity (Classics 101).

In line with these goals, my principal aim is to provide in-depth, accurate, and impartial high-quality information while avoiding shallow, sensationalized, distorted, and politically motivated writing.
